Re-homing

Whilst every reputable breeder seeks loving homes for their precious bundles, they do also acknowledge that sometimes things happen in life that mean families have to part with their much loved pet.

These circumstances are always hard for families, but are also difficult for the dog concerned.

In these difficult times, it is recommended that you speak first of all to the breeder.  Most will try and work with you in order to find a suitable alternative home which best suits the dog.  In order to do this there are a number steps which have to be taken. First of all a run down on the dogs likes/dislikes, environment, health, and basic upbringing ie has the dog been socialised with other dogs, children, cats etc. this has to be gathered with an honest account of the dogs behaviour and attitude, especially around children. Visiting the dog and assessment of the dog is absolutely paramount if a dog requires to be re-homed as we would not pass a dog from one family to another without being in possession of the full facts and being completely happy with the dog and the new home.

All new owners would be made fully aware of any issues which the dog had, and would only be homed when we are fully satisfied that it was a correct choice of home for both the new owner and the dog.

As you will appreciate, the aforementioned takes a little time in arranging and most families who find themselves in this situation appreciate the lengths we go to in order to find the best and most suited choice of new home.

Whilst trying to identify a new home, it is best, if possible that the dog stays in it's current environment as this is the one which they are accustomed to. In the event that matters have to be expedited on the families side, for whatever reason, it is felt reasonable and appropriate that the dog is put into a local kennel in order that the process can be followed.  This gives an opportunity to go through all the necessary procedures and avoid " knee jerk" reactions and "quick" homes which aren't necessarily the best choice, perhaps just convenient at the time.

Where we can, we will offer to take a dog if necessary, however this is not always possible.

We take our responsibilities as breeders very seriously and are committed to the puppies which we breed.  We also expect that owners who chose to take the puppies on, show responsibility and commitment to the dog in the event that they find themselves in this situation.

Neo needs a new home

Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances Neo is looking for a new home.  He is a much loved dog and his owners want to find him the right home.  He is a very gentle, unintrusive dog, he has been neutered, he has not been used to young children therefore it would be better if he went to a home with older children.  He has not lived with other dogs however given time Neo would settle fine with another dog,  he was a little overwhelmed by ours at first but not agressive in any way, infact he hid behind the settee. Neo appeared uninterested in our cat even though he had not been brought up with cats. If you are interested in giving Neo a home please drop me an email and I will put you in touch with his owners.  Neo lives in Alexandria in Scotland, he is 5 years old.
